William Kinsley

Hancock—William “Gim” Cattanach Kinsley, 75, died Friday, May 6, 2022 at Barre Gardens.

Gim was a man of few words, and many interests. He was a Long Trail hiker, photographer, a scuba diver, a veteran of the US Navy Submarine Service, a student of history, especially the Civil War, and a collector of more stuff than he needed.

His working life was centered in the White River Valley.

Serving his community and surrounding towns, he was a Vermont licensed Master Electrician and Master Plumber. In addition, he was a long-standing volunteer fireman, and past Fire Chief. His affiliations included memberships in the Masons, Shriners, V.F.W., and Hubbard’s Store regular.

On May 6, 2022, Gim’s adventures on this Earth ended. Born William Cattanach Kinsley on May 15, 1946, son to Mike and Julia Kinsley of Hancock, he is survived by his sisters, Jakey K. Twitchell of Hancock, and Betty Hammond of South Barre, Vt.; his son, Roy, of Goshen, Vt.; and a granddaughter, Oslin Kinsley.

There are no services. There will be a gathering at the Hancock Town Hall on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 1 p.m.

Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
