She was born January 2, 1934 in East Braintree; the daughter of Thomas A. and Blanche (Carpenter) Jarvis. She graduated from Randolph High School and was married to Francis D. Concannon in Randolph on October 26, 1957.
Sylvia had lived in East Weymouth, Mass. for 35 years, before returning to East Braintree in 1994. She had worked at the Dairy Building at the University of Vermont from 1955-1957 and was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and the Snowsville Grange. Sylvia enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and caring for the farm animals.
Survivors include her daughters, Kay Foley and husband Joe of Bristol, Laura Concannon of Weymouth, Mass., Elizabeth Walton and husband Lance of New Ipswich, N.H., Christine O’Toole and husband Ed of Blackstone, Mass., and Leslie Tripp and husband Brian of Berkley, Mass.; son Joseph Concannon of Whitman, Mass.; sisters, Sybil Cooper of Honeyville, Utah, and Shirley Dumont of Braintree; brother, Alfred Jarvis of Randolph; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband in 2004, brothers, Stanford and Bernard Jarvis; and sisters, Arlene Jarvis, June Northrup, and Anne Aruzza.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Randolph, with Rev. John Milanese officiating. Calling hours are Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 4-6 p.m. at the Day Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring at Pleasant View Cemetery.
