Randolph welcomed a new business last month with the opening of a Tire Warehouse on South Main Street. The building was formerly occupied by a bowling alley and most recently a dollar store.
The store offers an inventory of 2,500 to 3,000 tires at any given time, and it is open seven days a week.
Tire Warehouse is a New England wide chain of 45-50 stores, explained Nathan Alger, the store manager. Alger, a resident of South Royalton, worked with the company only about a year before being promoted to the position of manager of the new store.
It’s the company’s fifth store in Vermont, he said. Others are in Burlington, Berlin, Rutland and Bennington. The network will allow the local store to obtain any tire within 48 hours, he said.
Tire Warehouse is also related to a larger firm, Monroe Muffler & Brakes, which has outlets up and down the Atlantic coast.
Besides Alger, the store has three employees: Tim Churchill, Bryan Letourneau, and Corey Madrazo. All of them grew up in area towns.
Later this year, Alger said, the store wants to help with community events. Specifically, he’d like to sponsor a local car club and have occasional car shows on his spacious lot.
