According to to animal rescuer John Aberth, it was a “perfect release” when this owl, who was found last week by Kathleen Byrne in her hen house in Hancock, was returned to the wild last Wednesday, Feb. 8. She reports that “he flew up into a tree and looked around and then flew toward the White River and Hancock Mountain.” Too thin when he was found, the owl had been fattened up with three-per-day mouse feedings. Seven Hancock residents were in attendance to wish him well. (Provided / Kathleen Byrne)
