Dana Winters, a 15 year-old sophomore at South Royalton High School, will be a delegate with the People to People Student Ambassa­dor Program.

Winters, who is the only delegate from this area, will leave July 8 for the program’s 20-day European Odyssey trip to Italy, France, and Greece.

“I want to do this trip because it is an amazing opportunity to ex­perience other cultures while also learning,” Winters said. “I might meet some important government officials. I will get to see many fa­mous historical places like the Ei­ffel Tower, the Louvre, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Rome, Pompeii, and Athens. I will also experience the lo­cal culture.”

“It’s a tremendous opportunity for her, but we can’t really afford it on our own,” said her mother, Patsy Doyle.
