Planning For Second Local Festival Begins
Building a Local Economy (BALE) will have an initial planning meeting Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 5 p.m., at the new BALE office/community space (located diagonally across the street from 5 Olde Tavern) in South Royalton.
The public is invited to join in creating “BALE: A Celebration of All Things Local,” to be held Thursday, June 7 from 3-9 p.m. on the South Royalton Green.
This will be the second annual “All Things Local” festival on the So Ro Green and, in many ways, a follow-up to the Fiddlehead Festival held for several years at Vermont Technical in Randolph. Last year’s festival brought over 700 people to an event that offered an expanded farmers market, workshops, demonstrations, exhibits, a kids activity area, food vendors, live music, and dozens of community and nonprofit information displays.
BALE is a community resource center devoted to the creation and development of farm, food, and local economy initiatives in the upper White River Valley. For more information about BALE or how you can help plan the second annual celebration, contact Chris Wood at balevt@gmail.com or 802-498-8438.
