Boys and Girls Club Announces Staff and Volunteer Honorees

Staff Member of the Month Gretchen Grote (left) graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management and in 2011 with a degree in organizational leadership.
“She is always available to students whether they need assistance with homework or just someone to talk to,” club officials noted. “Gretchen exemplifies a student- oriented individual who genuinely cares about the students.”
Volunteer of the Month Andy Chamberlin is currently working towards his associates’ degree in mechanical engineering at Vermont Technical College, Class of 2013 and is an Eagle Scout.
“Andy is always ready to help students with homework and is always ready and willing to play a game of tag or build an amazing creation out of K’Nex or Legos, inspiring kids to remain active and create their won masterpieces,” club officials said.
The Boys and Girls Club of the White River Valley honors staff and volunteers as a part of National Mentoring Month. The goals of National Mentoring Month are to raise awareness of mentoring in its many forms, recruit mentors, and honor current mentors. National Mentoring Month is supported by the President of the United States, members of congress, as well as individuals such as Clint Eastwood and Cal Ripken Jr. For more information on National Mentoring Month, visit www.nationalmentoringmonth.org.
