Ella A. Pape RANDOLPH- Ella Alice Pape, 95, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the Mayo Healthcare in Northfield. She was born in Barre February 15, 1912, the daughter of George and Lillian (Bartlett) Holmes. She attended Barre Town and Spaulding High School. She married Richard Pape August, 7, 1933 in Barre. He died January 9, 1966. She had worked for Fisherman's Retail Store in Montpelier, Barre Steam Laundry in Barre and Vermont College in Montpelier. She was a member of the Montpelier American Legion and VFW Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, fishing, bingo, cards and especially dancing. Survivors include five children: Richard Pape of East Calais, Ronald Pape of Richmond, Va., Philip Pape of South Barre, and Beverly Pape and Cheryl LaShomb, both of Randolph; seven grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her long-time companion, Red Rogers; her sister, May Pierson, and stepbrother, Salem Bartlett. There were no calling hours. A graveside service was conducted Saturday, July 21 at the Waterbury Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Central Vermont Humane Society, PO Box 687, Montpelier, Vt. 05601-0687. Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield is in charge of the arrangements. |
