News of Area Students Michael Labejsza, the son of Zygmunt and Jolanta Labejsza of Rochester, graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. May 12, with a liberal arts degree in political science. Also a graduate of Rochester High School, Labejsza was honored at the Macalester College Honors Convocation May 11 with the Pi Sigma Alpha Award from the national political science honor society. Christina Nielsen of Brookfield, the daughter of Erik Nielsen of Brookfield and Barbara Nielsen of Montpelier, graduated magna cum laude from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y. May 20. She majored in writing with minors in philosophy, honors and English. Erik M. White, a graduate of Randolph Union High School, made the Dean's List this semester at Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, N.Y., where he is majoring in business. Jenna Williams, daughter of Craig and Karen Williams of Tunbridge, recently received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Ver mont College of Medicine. She received the H. Gordon Page Award for excellence in surgery and the Charles Schectman, M.D. '26 Award for clinical excellence. This month, she starts her five-year surgery residence through Brown University in Providence, R.I. Gretchen Grote, daughter of Glenn and Peggy Grote of South Royalton, was named to the Dean's List for the spring semester at Southern New Hampshire University. She will begin her junior year this fall, majoring in sports management. Jordan Collette, the son of Jay and Donna Collette of Randolph, graduated cum laude from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I. May 19. A 2003 graduate of Randolph Union High School, he was awarded a bachelor of sci ence degree in international business, with a concentration in marketing research. |
