Marjorie E. Wilk
WALPOLE, N.H.–Marjorie E. Wilk, 92, died Friday, Sept. 22 at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, N.H.
She was born March 21, 1914, in Westminster Mass., the daughter of Leslie and Florence (Newell) Gilman. She was a graduate of Randolph High School.
She worked part-time at Woodward’s Florist, making wreaths and working with the spring flowers in Walpole for many years. She was a member of the PTA and a life member of the Walpole Grange both in Walpole.
She loved her gardens and watching the birds at the window bird feeders. Older country music was a great comfort to Mrs. Wilk the last five years.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Wilk of Keene, N.H.; two daughters; Helen Gideos of Walpole, N.H., and Margaret Sargent and her husband Kenneth, of Waterbury; three sisters: Helen Moore of Springfield, N.H., Alice Adams of Perkinsville, N.H., and Evelyn Dimick of Concord, N.H.; four grandsons, six great-grandchildren and two step great-grandsons.
She was predeceased by two husbands, Joseph Barnes and John Wilk; and a brother, Arthur N. Gilman.
A funeral service took place at the Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home Inc., Bellows Falls, Tuesday, Sept. 26. Burial followed the service at the Saxtons River Cemetery, Saxtons River.
