RUHS Gymnastics Host South Burlington Local Girls Place Third and Fourth

The RUHS gymnastics team hosted South Burlington last Friday. South Burlington beat the Ghosts 124.9 to 118.5. Taking first in the all around was South Burlington's Brittany Gibbs, who scored a 34.7, and teammate Chelsea Toutant took third with a score of 28.9. RUHS's Ashley Moore placed second in the all around competition with a score of 31.4. The Ghosts' Rachel Miller placed fourth with a score of 26.5.

South Burlington's Gibbs placed first on vault with a score of 8.85. Kali Bey took second for the Ghosts with a score of 8.4. Moore placed third with a score of 8.3. Also scoring for the Ghosts were Miller (7.4) and Leah Meltzer who scored a 7.5.

Gibbs also took first on bars with a score of 9.1. Alicia Meunier placed second for the Rebels with a score of 7.9, and Bey placed third (7.35). Also scoring well for the Ghosts were Moore who scored 6.9 and Larissa Eaton, who scored a 5.0.

The Ghosts' Moore took first on beam with a score of 8.0. Meunier placed second for the Rebels (7.9), and Bey placed third with a score of 7.35. The Ghosts Amy Slayton who scored a 7.4, Eaton (7.3), and Miller, who scored a 7.1, also executed well.

Gibbs placed first on the floor with a score of 8.8. The Ghosts' Kate O'Donnell took second with a score of 8.5 and teammate Bey placed third 8.35. Moore scored an 8.2, Eaton (8.0), and Tricia Preston scored a 7.8 for the Ghosts.

The Ghosts had a meet against Harwood on Tuesday and compete tomorrow against U-32 in a meet that is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The Ghosts will host Rice on Friday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m.
