It’s Playoff Time

The four teams of the Randolph Team Tennis League head into playoffs this week and next, after a season in which each played nine matches. More than 50 players, a record turnout, took part in the matches this year. For the first time, most of them were played on the new lighted tennis courts at the Randolph recreation area, which were paid for in part by donations from Randolph’s tennis aficionados.

The final standings for the regular season are:

1. Unstrung Heroes: 7 matches won, 33 sets won, 254 games won;

2. Slicers: 4 matches won, 31 sets won, 230 games won;

3. Topspins: 4 matches won, 25 sets won, 238 games won;

4. Ad-outs: 3 matches won, 19 sets won, 206 games won.

The Unstrung Heroes were to play the Ad-outs in the first semi-final match this week on Tuesday, and the Slicers will play the Topspins in the second semi-final on Thursday, Aug. 7.

Matches start about 6 p.m. at the village courts.
