Green Mt. Brass Band Plans Concert

In South Royalton

The Green Mountain Brass Band will perform a free concert at the Richard W. Ellis Bandstand on the Green in South Royalton Thursday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. This concert, which will include a variety of traditional, contemporary and popular band concert music, is handicap-accessible, and the rain site will be the high school gym.

The band has 26 members and features cornets, horns, trombones, baritones, euphoniums, basses, drums, and percussion. It draws its musicians from all over Vermont’s musical community. Patty Eisenman of Morrisville, who will be the guest conductor, recently retired from the Vermont National Guard’s 40th Army Band, as well as from leading the Morristown Military Band for many years. 

South Royalton Band members Phyllis Kadlub on soprano cornet, Carrie Kohl on flugelhorn, and Dana Howe and Tom McNeil on bass will perform with this band. John Dumville, Phyllis Kadlub and Dick Ellis of the South Royalton Town Band helped organize this concert.
