Here I sit with pen in hand, trying to describe all the conveniences we have with the public conveyance of the Stagecoach. Without them, where would we be and what would we do? If you do not use this conveyance, you do not understand what it means to us that do not have other means of transportation to and from our destinations. We get taken to doctors’ appointments, food shopping, and out-of-town trips to West Lebanon or Rutland to eat or shop. To senior centers for lunch, drug store for our medicines, beauty salons for our hair cuts, etc. This service is also available to non-seniors. What a wonderful service. Someday try it! They also have two buses that go to Dartmouth hospital and the V.A. as well as other places, Monday through Friday. That’s two buses each day, each way. Now that’s a wonderful deal. The volunteer drivers as well as the bus drivers are so courteous and thoughtful and understanding of our situations, always with a smile or a joke to let us know we are valued people as well as passengers. The office personnel is also a valued part of this travel situation, and they know some people by their voices over the phone. This valued service deserves a card or a note of "thanks" from everyone in the Stagecoach area, because without them you might have to be excused from your work to take a sick relative to the doctor’s or shopping for food after working all day, when all you want to do is go home and take your shoes off. Let’s all take our hats off to these wonderful people and recognize them for their service and their value to this area. Barbara Pritchard Randolph _________ |
