David Ricker

VERSHIRE—David Ricker, 70, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, from injuries received in a fall in the copper mines in Vershire.

He was born on August 13, 1937, in Barre, the son of Ralph and Velma (Hood) Ricker. He attended schools in Vershire.

He was a carpenter working on bridges and building homes. He also owned and operated a garage in Vershire for a short time, and then was employed for Charlie Kelton remodeling his home.

He enjoyed hiking, hunting, was a member of the NRA, and also competed in the Old Timers Black Powder Shoots in New England.

Survivors include a brother, Wayne Ricker of West Fairlee; a sister, Lorraine Braman of Chelsea; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Alan and Eben Ricker.

Graveside funeral services were held Monday, July 7 at the Catholic Cemetery in Vershire.

The Hale Funeral Home of Bradford and Thetford Center, was in charge of arrangements.
