Our ‘Vacation Edition’

Is Next Week!

The Herald will publish its annual summer Vacation Edition next week.

The Herald staff will put the July 17 issue together today (Thursday) and tomorrow morning. That means if you, dear reader, or your organization have any news that ought to be in the July 17 Herald, we need it at the office today—and the earlier the better.

This notice, of course, applies to correspondents and advertisers as well. Please contact the appropriate Herald department today—or first thing tomorrow morning if absolutely necessary. The phone number is 728-3232 and the email is editor@OurHerald.com.

Looking Ahead

The Vacation Edition is a favorite of ours, and not just because we get to go on vacation. It’s full of a lot of features by a lot of different writers whom you don’t usually encounter in our pages. Next week, for instance, we’ll have features on lobster-watching, the Old Christ Church in Bethel, a fantastic collection of chess sets, and another of clocks, and another of old lawnmowers. Here will be interviews with young people who attend one of the many Governor’s Institutes, and a glimpse of ladyslippers and polar bears. There will be a three-page summer dining guide, as well as a Top Ten guide of what a Vermonter misses when she moves to New York.
