FLOCK Celebrates 10 Years
W/ New Production, ‘Liberty’

The FLOCK Dance Troupe celebrates its 10th year with a world premiere of an entirely new production entitled "Liberty," a collage of dance/theater vignettes based on the works and home of the great American sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, in Cornish, N.H., where he founded an influential artists colony.

As one art form is inspired by another, and dance is sculpture set in motion, this show will further interpret and expand upon Saint-Gaudens’ vision using live music and the spoken word, both new to FLOCK performances.

"Saint-Gaudens’s sculptures dissolve the boundaries between idealized classical lines and natural forms," FLOCK Artistic Director Carol Langstaff says. "His last work, a gold coin, shows Liberty striding forth, decisive and energized, bringing forward into the world the concept of shared resources and economic liberty for all. The idea of this show is to encourage participants and viewers to further the concept of liberty in our lives and communities."

Performances will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 18, 19 and 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Star Mountain Amphitheater in Sharon, rain or shine. There is an indoor space for inclement weather. Bring something to sit on and come early to picnic. Both sites are accessible, with assistance provided. Please, no dogs.
