Skip Sjobeck and Erin Divelbiss competed Sunday, June 29 in the Vermont Bass Federation Open on Lake Champain out of Larabees Point. The team placed first with a six-fish limit of largemouth bass totaling 27.63 pounds, an astonishing lead over second place of 21 pounds. The team is also proud to have caught lunker for the day, a beautiful 6.09 lb. largemouth bass. There were 18 other two-person teams competing on Sunday.

The duo won $195 for lunker and $605 for the first place finish. Sjobeck has been an avid tournament fisherman for 10 years and Divelbiss started fishing tournaments with him last year.

Last year the fishing pair placed second in a Vermont Bass Federation open out of St. Albans, third in the Make A Wish Charity Open out of Malletts Bay, and 10th in the Plunder Bay Open. This year’s six-fish limit of 27.63 pounds was their personal best.

Both fishermen graduated from Randolph Union High School in 1998.
