Donald E. Mead

HANCOCK — Donald E. Mead, 66, formerly of Burlington, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.

He was born September 19, 1941 in Burlington, the son of Ellsworth and Lucille (Poulin) Mead. He married Rena Bissette, who died in 1984. He had worked as a meat packer at McKenzie Meats, and was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Colchester. He enjoyed fishing and baseball.

Survivors include his daughters, Carmie Peters and Tina Cameron, both of Florida; brothers, Ellsworth Mead Jr., of Milford, Conn., Ernie Mead of Milton, William Mead of Winooski, Robert Mead of Burlington, and Ricky Mead of So. Burlington; sisters, Betty Mead of Colchester, Beverly Rockwell of Burlington, Pauline Gratton of Rochester, N.Y., and Mary Haulenbeek of Westford.

Graveside memorial services will be held Friday, June 13 at 1 p.m. at the St. Stephen’s Catholic Cemetery in Winooski, with Rev. Peter O’Leary, officiating. There are no calling hours. Online condolences may be left at www.dayfunerals.com. Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
