Doris L. Heath

BENSENVILLE, ILL.—Doris L. Heath,102, a long-time resident of Randolph, died May 14, 2008, after a brief illness. She was born December 21, 1905, the daughter of William and Lillian Bigglestone.

Survivors include two sons, Andrew Heath of San Francisco, Calif., and Philip Heath of Bensenville, Ill.; two grandchildren, Brian Derbyshire and Debra Anaya; three great-grandchildren, Cade, Chase and Kierra; and several nieces and nephews, along with the children who gave her "honorary grandmother status."

She was predeceased by her husband, Otis Robinson Heath, former pastor of Bethany U.C.C. in Randolph.

She was brought up in New England, graduating from Mt. Holyoke College, and received her masters degree at Andover Newton Theological Seminary in Newton, Mass. From 1953-1971, she lived in Randolph and devoted her time to the affairs of Bethany Church, working with the youth choirs and Sunday school. She served as chairperson to the state Board of Christian Education in Vermont and was a delegate to the church’s national meeting in Oberlin, Ohio, where the new U.C.C. Statement of Faith was adopted. She spent 28 years in Scottsdale, Ariz., before moving to Bensenville, Ill. in 1999.

There will be a memorial service Wednesday, June 25, at 11 a.m. at Bethany Church in Randolph.
