RTCC Students Inducted Into On May 21, 17 students from Randolph Technical Career Center were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. The induction was held in the RUHS auditorium with parents, family members and faculty attending. As part of the selection process, besides high grades and excellent attendance, students must provide evidence of leadership and community. In addition to participating in community activities such as Green Up Day, church and grange functions, and 4H, these students donate blood, assist elderly neighbors with snow removal and lawn mowing, participate in the Randolph National Bank Mitten Tree, contribute to the United Way, and participate in fundraisers. Julia Collins of South Royalton uses her musical talent to help raise money for the Special Olympics Ski Team, for "The Beat Goes On" a heart transplant organization, and participates in The Chase Race. Michael Jacques of Randolph assists his uncle, a game warden in New Hampshire, with moose and bear checks as well as a pheasant release. Michelle Kazcmarek of Randolph is a member of the Restorative Justice Board that works with offenders in a diversion program. Matthew Messier of Randolph is participating in the 30-hour famine through Bethany Church, with the goal of raising $10,000 for the Sudan. A number of these students also coach and umpire children in basketball, baseball, and softball or visit the elderly in nursing homes.
