BARRE—Mary E. Flanagan, 87, formerly of Roxbury, died Wedenesday, May 21, 2008 at Rowan Court in Barre. She was born December 12, 1919 in Baievert, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Blake and Clara (Summers) Ogden. She came to the United States in 1925, and attended Massachusetts schools. She married Stewart MacPhee January 17, 1942. He died in 1983. She married Christopher Flanagan February 7, 1987. They lived in Bethel and Addison, Maine, before moving to Barre earlier this year. He died April 13, 2008. She was a volunteer for the Vermont Council on Aging. She enjoyed knitting and sewing. Survivors include three daughters: Donna McKean of Big Prairie, Ohio; Jean Lewis of Roxbury, and Amanda Flanagan of Northfield; a sister, June Goslin of Florida; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Mark and Neil MacPhee; a brother, John Ogden; and two sisters, Eleanor Ambs and Ruth Rowley. Memorial services were held Tuesday afternoon, May 27 at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph, with Rev. Timothy Eberhardt officiating. Burial will be at the Old Christ Church Burial Grounds in Bethel at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Ave., New York, N.Y. 10065.
