RUHS Jr./Sr. High Track

The Randolph junior high track team traveled to Green Mountain Union in Chester, competing against seven other teams, for their second meet of the season.

Highlights from that meet included Aaron Sault in the 100 at 14.66 and anchoring the third place boys' 4 by 100 relay. Josh Blanchard ran on both third place relay teams, the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 200, and put in his own effort at the 400, clocking a 71.92 for fourth. Logan Whitcomb also ran the 4 x 200 and earned a fourth place in the 1600 at 6:12. Tommy Zani had a personal best in the 800 at 2:42 and was a member of both relays as well. Ryan Maxfield, the fourth 4 by 100 relay team member, also won third place at discus with a 68'8" throw. John Skoda, the fourth member of the 4 by 200 relay, had a personal best shot of 16'4".

For the girls, Dani Gagnon was fifth in the 100m hurdles at 22.0 and also ran the 200 in 34.71. Gagnon’s long jump of 10'.75" was a team best. Brooke Angell ran the 400 in 1:25 and Gwen Pelletier finished the 800 in 3:24, a tough double after running in the 400 immediately before.

U-32 Meet

The team competed against 16 other schools on Saturday at the U-32 Middle Level Meet. The boys' 4 x 100 set a new personal best of 60.8 seconds and earned eighth place with Logan Whitcomb substituting on the third leg. Blanchard was ninth in a new personal best of 5:36. Zani earned eighth in the 800 at 2:42. Aaron Sault was first in his heat and 12th overall in the 100. Maxfield was fourth in javelin with an 87-foot throw.

Gagnon ran 34.5 in the 200 and marked a personal best in long jump at 10 feet, 2 inches. Angell competed in the long jump and high jump and also ran the 800 then immediately raced in the 200. Her best effort came in the 800 where she finished in 3:19. Pelletier ran the tough 400/800 double and finished the 400 in 1:34. Also in the field events, John Skoda had a new best at 16'5" in the shot put.

The junior high team competes this Monday at Green Mountain again and then at Harwood next Tuesday.

High School Meet

Meanwhile, the high school team had a quiet week with two athletes competing at last Wednesday's Monster Meet at U-32.

Liz Douville competed in the 100, 200, shot and javelin. She gained two personal bests, a 24'2.5" shot put and a 55'4" javelin throw. Danielle Galbreath competed in the 100, shot and jav. She threw a new best effort of 20'8" in shot put.

The high school team travels to Harwood this Tuesday, sends three athletes to the U-32 Freshman/Sophomore Showcase on Friday, and then one more to the Hanover Invitational on Saturday. Their last regular meet is next Wednesday at Middlebury.
