The front page story in the Herald says the Development Review Board (DRB) "permits" the Ridge Road Quarry proposal. How is it that they say they have permitted the project, and turn around and put so many conditions on it that the business would struggle to make a profit? More accurately they should say they denied the proposed project, added their own conditions to the proposal, and passed that new version. I really wonder sometimes what the DRB, made up of highly capable people, is thinking. The quarry would be responsible to rebuild 300 feet of the Ridge Road. What's up with that? If you actually make them do that, then at least you fix the rest of the ridge road for the rest of us or at least put up "drive at your own risk" signs. Dave Dempsey Brookfield |
