Bert Moffatt Find New Mgr. Former Town Manager, Village Manager and Interim Manager Bert Moffatt will return to help Randolph through its latest transition. Selectboard Chair Stephen Webster confirmed yesterday that Moffatt has informally agreed to spend about 90 days in the employ of the town after the current manager, Peter Butterfield, leaves office June 13. That was decided in a meeting Tuesday between Moffatt and the selectboard. Moffatt has a long, fruitful, and affectionate relationship with both Randolph and Bethel. He served both as town managers, and he once served as Randolph village manager (when the village was separate from the town) and as Bethel manager simultaneously. Several times he has helped out the town when it was between managers, as it is now. Those engagements include 2003 and 1999. "We want to engage him," Webster said, noting the details are still being worked out but will probably include two- or three-day weeks during the 90-day period. Moffatt will help out with management duties but will also help the selectboard review the resumes of potential new town managers. "He wants that process to go along quickly," Webster said. |
