Randall Drive-In
Opening in June
The Randall Drive-In will have a delayed opening this year, with the anticipated opening scheduled for June 6.

According to operator Laurie Girard, the drive-in movie theater off Route 12 in Bethel is currently undergoing upgrades to the projection equipment. The drive-in closed early last year, due to equipment malfunctions. Girard said she and her husband Larry, were grateful to the many people who called them offering help and suggestions.

"It’s because of our close-knit communities that we want to continue the reality of keeping the drive-in alive and well," Girard said. "We’re hoping the weather cooperates and we can run the season a little longer into September. We also plan on ending the season with a free cartoon night and food drive in memory of Bill Greene. The date will be set as the season progresses."

Girard also notes that this is the 75th anniversary year for drive-in movie theaters.

"The first drive-in opened June 6, 1933 in Camden, N.J.," she said. "We hope everyone will join us in honoring the past and anticipating the future of drive-ins everywhere."
