RANDOLPH—Palmira M. "Pal" Cassidy, 96, of Randolph, died early Friday morning, May 9, 2008, at Berlin Health and Rehab Center in Berlin. She was born on August 10, 1911, in Barre, the daughter of Rodolfo and Teresa (Bottinelli) Parnigoni. She attended Barre City schools and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1929. She also attended Bay Path Institute in Springfield, Mass. She married David Cox in Randolph on Oct. 22, 1934. He died in 1953. She later married Archie Cassidy in Randolph on Dec. 20, 1969, and he died in 1985. She lived most of her adult life in Randolph, then at the Delary House in Northfield from 1996-2006, when she moved to Berlin Health and Rehab. She had worked at "The Spot" ice cream parlor, Randolph Furniture Factory, and Savage’s Mill, all in Randolph; and at Northfield Wood Products. Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Howard and her husband Ronald of Eden Prairie, Minn.; two granddaughters, Cynthia L. Beserra and Ronda S. Pierre; two great-grandsons, Neko Beserra and Seth Pierre; and a great-granddaughter, Keeana Pierre. Graveside memorial services were held Tuesday morning, May 13, at Hope Cemetery in Barre, with Rev. Ronald E. Rilling officiating. Rev. Rilling shared prayer, scripture and the message. Words of introduction and appreciation were given by Ronald Howard. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Berlin Health and Rehab Center, Patient Activity Fund, 98 Hospitality Drive, Barre, Vt., 05641.
