Fundraiser Set
For Shelly Rogers

Following the success of last month’s huge fundraiser for Shelly Rogers at The Peavine Restaurant, another benefit is planned for Friday, May 23, at Stockbridge Central School.

This event will be a 6-8 p.m. "Pampered Chef" open house, put on by Rogers’ friend, Nichole Baxter of Hancock.

Baxter, a Pampered Chef consultant, will donate to Rogers all of her commissions on sales of cookware and kitchen gadgets that night. Pampered Chef, a distributor of high-quality cooking and serving ware, will donate a portion of all sales, as well.

Stockbridge resident Shelly Rogers, a dancer and a popular waitress at The Peavine, was diagnosed two months ago with multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer. Rogers has no health insurance, and friends and family members are helping her by raising funds for treatment.

Baxter, who usually conducts Pampered Chef demonstrations at homes, decided to do the fundraiser at the school, to make it easy for many to stop by during the two-hour ,"drop-in" format.

Baxter will show how the various products are used, and have on hand sample recipes, as well as food prepared with the products. There will also be "ways to win some free products," she said.

According to Baxter, products for sale will include cookware, cutlery, serving platters, tools for grilling, and "lots of different utensils and gadgets."

For information on the fundraiser, contact Baxter at 767-3946.
