Farmers Market Opens May 17

In a sign of the season, the Randolph Farmers Market will open Saturday, May 17, 9-noon. The weekly market is located in the field behind the Orange South Supervisory Union office on Central Street in Randolph.

This year will bring back the usual vendors and goods, plus some new additions. Shoppers will find a variety of crafts, from quilts to cutting boards to yard decorations.

There will be early-season vegetables and starter plants, with a full array of flowers and vegetables (including organic) as the season progresses.

A variety of local baked goods including doughnuts, breads and pastry items, will again be sold.

New this year will be certified organic beef and poultry items, as well as conventional pork. There will be spices available to make all those vegetables and meat even better.

Those who need a nice way to display all that food, will find a new vendor selling pottery.

"It looks to be a great season—and it looks like this year you really can get just about everything you need in one local stop," said said one of the vendors, Angela Russell.

The Randolph Farmers Market is open rain or shine every Saturday 9 a.m.-noon until October 18.
