Off to Promising Start

Whitcomb hit off a new track and field season once again with some new talents joining the team this year. The first meet of the season was a great one and put the whole team in a positive attitude for what lies ahead.

For the girls’ team, Meredith Kill placed second in the 100 meter. June Claughton placed second in the 3000 and third in the 800. Mikayla Dieffenbach placed second in the high jump, third in the long jump, and third in the 100 meter hurdles. Aneta M. placed first in the shot put and third in the 100 meter. Brittany Flint placed sixth in the 100 meter. The girls’ relay team placed first in the 4 x 100.

For the boys Peter Burgos placed first in the 1500 and 3000, lapping the competition in each race. Donald Harrington placed first in the 200 meter, third in the long jump, second in the high jump, and second in the 100 meter. Clemens Garve placed third in the shot put.
