For 3rd Time, Niebling
To Be a Hall-of-Famer

Randolph native and former RUHS sports star Jen Niebling will be inducted into her third hall of fame next month.

The Vermont Principals’ Association announced this week that Niebling is one of just three athletes to be chosen for inclusion this year in the VPA Hall of Fame. Several coaches, administrators, and officials will also be inducted in the May 8 ceremony in Rutland.

Niebling was inducted into the UVM Hall of Fame in 2003 for her outstanding career in UVM basketball, where she was a sparkplug in two unbeaten seasons and graduated (Phi Beta Kappa) as the #2 all-time UVM leading scorer.

The next year, she was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame.

The latest award will recognize her abilities, not just in basketball, but in all sports. During her senior year, she was an important member of all three of Randolph Union High School’s athletic teams—in soccer, basketball, and softball.

Each of those teams won a state championship.

Niebling is the daughter of Robert Niebling of Randolph and Cheryl Holman Carmiggelt of Arizona. She is now head basketball coach at St. Michael’s College.
