Questions For Selectboard The voters in Randolph have no voice or power in their vote. The selectboard can bully the people around and overturn the people’s vote. I don’t trust the new members, and they haven’t exactly given me reason by taking away my vote. Can someone explain to me why 24 Pleasant Street is the wrong decision if we can have another asset, renovated at a fixed figure, that saves us over $300,000? This choice could have the room to combine the police department, and in turn savings on fuel and electric costs plus, optimizing internal communication between all the offices and town paid employees. Additionally, in doing so, the police department would have a direct eye on the growing gazebo problem. Does it also make sense to rent out our extra space at 24 Pleasant, perhaps by offering it to the Boys & Girls Club, since we contract with them for our recreation department? Why is the board entertaining new ideas about renting? Is this a tactical maneuver so that we become confused or lose sight of the offer for 24 Pleasant Street? Why would the selectboard want to rent from DuBois & King? This would eliminate another portion of their corporation’s property taxes, which is already subsidized by the town in a deal they had when they built that building.
