CORNISH, N.H.—Dennis R. Bestenbostel, 64, died Friday morning, March 21, 2008, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. He was born September 5, 1943, in Derby, Conn., the son of Kenneth and Marian (Bradshaw) Bestenbostel. He attended schools in Seymore and Clinton, Conn., graduating in 1962 from Morgan High School in Clinton. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and was married to Elaine C. Redlon in 1966. They lived in Brattleboro for a time before moving to Tunbridge in 1971. He worked as a truck driver, first for Decato Brothers’ Trucking in Lebanon, N.H., and then later for Varney Trucking out of Hartland. Mrs. Bestenbostel died June 4, 1988. Dennis lived with his second wife, Sharon Oszajca in Cornish, N.H., since 1989. He was a member of the George Washington Lodge #51 F&AM in Chelsea, and of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Oszajca of Cornish Flat, N.H.; his son, Richard D. Bestenbostel of South Royalton; two daughters, Lori J. Perfetti of Port St. Lucy, Fla., and Valerie M. Priole of Wyonna, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Bestenbostel of Seymore, Conn.; a sister, Carrie Clark of Clinton, Conn.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held later this year in the Hunt Cemetery in Tunbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornish Rescue Squad, P.O.
