Frank C. Taplin

BETHEL—Frank C. Taplin, 59, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008.

He was born September 15, 1948 in Montpelier, the son of Earl and Leona (Bettis) Taplin.

He attended Montpelier schools and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1967. He served in the Vermont National Guard and was a firefighter in Montpelier.

He married Nancy (Pelkey) Aldrighetti February 15, 1975. They moved to Bethel in 1975. He served on various town committees, was a volunteer firefighter and was on the Bethel selectboard. He and his wife owned and operated Wilson’s Restaurant in Bethel for 20 years.

At the time of his death, he was employed at the Marriot Hotel in Lebanon. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, collecting baseball cards, gardening and yard work.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Taplin of Bethel; four daughters: Sherry Jerome and husband, Paul, of Middlesex, SuAnn Taplin of Santa Monica, Calif.; AmiLyn Taplin of Burlington, and Jessica
Taplin of Bethel; three sons: Thomas Taplin of Lebanon, N.H., Nathan Taplin and Zachary Taplin, both of Bethel; two step-daughters, Donna Smith and husband, Kevin, of Barre, and Diane Cousino and husband, Scott, of Ferrisburg; two step-sons, David Aldrighetti and wife, Danell, of Bethel, and Timothy Aldrighetti and wife, Kimberly, of Bethel; six sisters: Betty Carlyle and husband, Ken, of Ocala, Fla., Helen Taplin of Conway, Ariz., Linda Chenette and husband, Michael, of Jericho, Nancy McCall and husband, Sandy, of Washington, D.C.; Mary Sorrentino and husband, Phillip, of Essex Junction, and Bonnie Marceau and husband, Andy, of Barre; two brothers, Larry Taplin and wife, Kimberly, of Queensbury, N.Y., and Roger Taplin of Barre. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and 17 nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
