Rough Terrain Riders
Win Awards Galore

Award ceremonies in January and February put the wrap on a very successful horse show season for riders from Randolph's Rough Terrain Farm.

Last summer, rider Allegra Walters, trained by Jessica Stewart, made an impressive showing at her first time attending the Region 6 American Quarter Horse Show. The show brings together competitors from the Maritime Provinces, Quebec, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

Allegra and her gelding, Zipped on Heir (aka Cisco) won the Youth All-Around Reserve Champion and Novice Youth All-Around Reserve Champion prizes.

Vermont awards were given out Jan 26 by the Vermont Quarter Horse Association at its annual awards banquet in Rutland. There, Allegra won the following awards: Division II, Novice Youth Champion, Youth Reserve Champion; Division V, Youth Champion; Division VII, Novice Youth Reserve Champion and Youth Champion.

New Hampshire handed out its awards at a February banquet and Allegra was the out-of-state Novice Youth Champion and out-of-state Youth Champion. Later this year, Allegra begins showing her new horse, Bens Chocolate Chip.

Leah Thomas, who recently began training at Rough Terrain Farm, was recognized by the VQHA at the awards banquet in Rutland and won: Division I, Halter Mares Reserve Champion; and Division V, Novice Youth Champion
