Randolph National Bank Teller A freak accident injured a teller at the South Royalton office of the Randolph National Bank Friday, Feb. 22. Christina Richardson of Northfield was working at South Royalton office of the Randolph National Bank that morning when a six to eight-inch chunk of ice flew off the top of the morning Amtrak train as it went by. Originally used at the train depot, the bank building is located right next to the tracks. The ice crashed through the window and struck Richardson in the forehead. "When I got hit, it hurt so much that I fell to the floor and started to cry," Richardson told The Herald. "My co-workers took me into the manger’s office and the ambulance came and took me to Gifford Medical Center in Randolph." The doctors at Gifford diagnosed Richardson with a concussion, and she was out of work for several days, returning the following Thursday. Not surprisingly, Richardson reported that she was "shook up for a while and had a massive headache." She also noted that RNB security officer Mona Colton "was wonderful to me and stayed with me at the hospital. I really appreciated that." The broken window at the bank branch in South Royalton has been replaced with a new stronger safety glass material. ____________ |
