Jason E. Terry RANDOLPH—Jason Evans "Jake" Terry, 31, died suddenly March 5, 2008 in Old Fort, N.C. He was born June 10, 1976 in Philadelphia, Penna. He moved to Randolph from Pennsylvania with his two brothers, Drew and Lance, along with his parents, Jess and Jane, in 1981. He graduated from Randolph Union High School, where he was very active in sports, particularly wrestling and lacrosse. He spent the year after graduation as a foreign exchange student in Venezuela. Once back in the United States, he followed the band Phish and went on to travel much of the world, including Hawaii, Mexico, the Panama Canal, the South Pacific, Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. He picked up several languages while traveling. In recent years, he worked in construction and excavation in Lake Leelanau, Mich. He eventually purchased a backhoe and started his own business, The Boulder Man, Inc. His specialty was building dry stack retaining and border walls out of large stone. He operated his business out of Black Mountain, N.C. His family and friends will remember him for his infectious smile and laugh and his enthusiasm for whatever he was involved in. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m. at Bethany Church on Main Street in Randolph. ____________ |
