NORTH POMFRET—Dean A. Tracy, 70, died at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. March 3, 2008. He was born December 1, 1937 in Hanover, N.H., the son of Ralph A. and Ruth (Harrington) Tracy. He graduated from Woodstock High School in 1956. He worked in his father’s shop for a few years and then worked in a number of automotive parts stores in the upper valley. He then worked many years for Miller Auto Sales in their parts department. He married Eleanor White June 14, 1959, in Pomfret. He was an active member of the North Pomfret Church and a long time member of their choir, and for over 25 years was a member of the North Pomfret Fire Department. Survivors include his wife Eleanor, of North Pomfret; his son James of Springfield, N.H.; his daughter, Cindy Shumaker of New York City, N.Y.; two grandsons, Scott Lewis Tracy and Jonathan James Tracy; two brothers, Richard Tracy of Sharon and Ajo, Ariz.; and Robert Tracy of St. Augustine, Fla.; a sister, Linda Tracy of Haines City, Fla.; an aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Peterson and Cora Krupinsky. Memorial donations may be made to the North Pomfret Fire Department or the North Pomfret Congregational Church. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m. at the North Pomfret Congregational Church. A reception will follow at the North Pomfret Fire Station. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock. ____________ |
