Whitcomb Drama Will Present Comedy ‘Deliver Us Not’

Imagine eavesdropping on three "babies-to-be" as they ponder the outside world from their "warm, damp cave." Each baby has a theory explaining what will happen when they slide out, and of course, each one thinks his philosophy is the correct one. The comedy, "Deliver Us Not (or Birth, Where is Thy Sting?)" by Lee Howard and Greg Gamble is this year’s one-act play presented by the Whitcomb Drama students Wednesday, March 19 at 8 p.m. in the school gym.

Starring as babies are Hannah Thoenen, Meredith Kill, and Daniel Noel. Senior Amber Horne is serving as assistant to director Susan Rule. Providing a glimpse in the delivery room will be Chris Allen, June Claughton and Peter Burgos. "Techies" are Mikayla Dieffenbach, Teresa Claughton, and Mariah Ertel. Designing and constructing the "womb with a view" are artistic director, Kep Taylor and Lisa Hill, with help from the cast.

Whitcomb Drama students will travel to Williamstown High School Saturday, March 22 to participate in the Vermont Regional One-Act Play Festival with this year’s production. If you’d like to attend one or all of the plays at the regional festival, contact Susan Rule at Whitcomb High School for the performance times that day. Other schools presenting plays at Williamstown will be Mill River Union High School (Clarendon), Lyndon Institute, Hazen Union High School (Hardwick), Bellows Free Academy (St. Albans), and Williamstown High School.
