Singers Begin Rehearsing

Tuesday under New Director

It’s that time again when the Randolph Singers is starting up their rehearsals for their spring concert, to be held on May 31st at the Randolph Baptist Church.

The first rehearsal will be this coming Tuesday, March 18 at the Baptist Church from 6:45 to 8:45 pm.

"We are very excited this year to be putting together a musical program of music by the composer John Rutter," said the Randolph Singers president, Dana A. Dean. "Rutter's music is eclectic, showing the influences of the French and English choral traditions."

The Singers will be performing the "Requiem," "Heavenly Airplane," "The Gift of Music," the "Birthday Madrigals," and "I Will Sing with the Spirit."

"This represents a wide range of music from the solemn to the spiritual and will be a great deal of fun," Dean said.

The rehearsals and concert will be under new direction. Kathy Rotondi of Northfield has agreed to direct the group for this spring. Kathy currently is the director for the Brookfield Community Singers and has extensive choral experience.

Tim Guiles will return as accompanist. He has been accompanist during the last four years during the directing tenure of Piero Bonamico.

The Randolph Singers is open to any singer without audition.

"We hope that you will be able to join us this spring and share your love of music with the community." Dean said. "We look forward to seeing those of you who are returning—and please tell your friends about our group."
