Bethel Boys Bow Out
By Laurie-Jean B. Gauthier

The Whitcomb Hornet Boys finished the regular season on the road in South Ryegate when they faced the Blue Mountain Bucks in their only meeting of the season and lost to their hosts. Bethel ended with a 3-16 record.

The Hornets got the 16th seed in D-IV which had them slated to play the top seeded 18-1 Proctor Phantoms on Monday, but after meeting with their coach, the Hornets decided that they did not want to play, nor did they want to make the trip, so Whitcomb forfeited to Proctor in the opening round of the post season. Whitcomb faced the Phantoms early in the season in the MVL/CVLK Challenge and lost to Proctor by a huge deficit, 87-22. The forfeit now has Whitcomb at 3-20 for the 2007-08 season, which is two games better than the 2006-07 season.

Proctor will now host the eighth seeded Chelsea Red Devils who defeated ninth seeded TSA in the opening play-offs, 44-41.
