An Introduction As a candidate for Randolph Selectboard, I believe it to be important for the people to understand my qualifications to be their representative voice. I believe my voice to be a fiscally conservative voice. A voice that believes you, our Town and our Taxes do matter. As the people’s former Public Works Director, I would like to highlight my continued involvement and personal investment in our community. I have attended every regular selectboard meeting with the exception of one (moose season called) to keep an open and honest pulse of our town. I am an active member of the Water and Sewer Committee and chair the Wastewater Treatment Plant Committee. I presently represent Randolph as the vice president of the Board of directors for Vermont Rural Water. Vermont Rural Water is an organization that brings federal funding and resources to communities such as ours to help provide clean potable water and provide environmentally sound wastewater discharges to help keep our river clean. I have brought to the town proven successes. These successes include improved water quality and wastewater plant efficiencies. The wastewater plant operational efficiencies were so substantial that our wastewater facility, once known as one of the worst in the state, received both the Green Mountain Water Environment Award and the coveted Region 1 EPA Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations and Maintenance Excellence Award. My past record includes proven municipal budget management highlighted by fiscal restraint in water, wastewater, highway, recreation, and landfill operations. I have proven multi-project management all of which were completed under budget. I had accomplished the task of completing the refurbishment of Chelsea Mountain Road using our own highway resources to help soften the fiscal pain. I believe in working with and bringing quality business to our town to provide needed well paying sustainable employment for our citizens. I am of the belief that municipal government must be open and responsive to the people’s needs, providing quality infrastructure, improving emergency services through fiscally sound management policy, and must spend its capital dollars wisely to ensure the future needs of all our five hamlets we call Randolph are met. I believe we must effectively and efficiently work with our municipal staff to ensure that we the use of our tax dollars where we may derive the maximum potential utilization of those resources. I support our agricultural heritage as it coexists with our modern world. Lastly, I feel I can be an effective voice of the people, one that cares for your concerns. Joe Voci Randolph |
