Randolph Chamber Hires Jones This week, Randolph Area Chamber of Commerce Board President Joe Boyd announced the hiring of Deborah L. Jones as executive director. Chosen after a comprehensive search, she will succeed Judy Moore, who has acted in an interim executive director capacity since August of 2007. Jones has significant administrative experience from working on many non-profit boards and from her primary position as co-owner with her husband in a contracting business, Jack Jones Construction, Inc. of Sharon. She has a BA with a concentration in education from Vermont College at Norwich University. Jones’ community activities encompass in part board work and volunteerism in youth services, special education, assistance to disabled and special needs individuals, and the Sharon Food Shelf. Her duties for Jack Jones Construction include preparing job estimates and bid packages, contract preparation, design and drafting, budgeting and managing finances, and personnel issues. Jones is working closely with Moore through the month of February and will assume the executive director’s responsibilities in March. "We owe a debt of gratitude to Judy," Boyd said. "She has taken the Chamber a long way in refocusing our emphasis to business issues and restoring our website to an effective resource for the community, visitors and potential new businesses or residents." The Chamber has also hired Carol McNutt as its events coordinator. She will work on an ad hoc basis, in conjunction with chamber board members and other volunteers, to ensure the continued success and growth of its many functions. This new position will allow Jones more latitude to maintain the chamber’s renewed focus on promoting the vitality of business, commercial, and industrial health and development in the Randolph area. ____________ |
