Not ‘Progressive’
But ‘Regressive’

Recently people have begun to notice that every time Anthony Pollina runs for any office, we end up with a Republican office holder, and we keep going backwards. There's no reason to believe that 2008 would be any different.

I begin to wonder if the members of the Progressive Party are really so progressive. They say they are, but after it’s all over, they end up wasting their vote, which amounts to really supporting Jim Douglas. Perhaps Pollina’s party needs a name that truly fits. Maybe it's time to call them the Regressives.

You'd think that other Regressives would realize that by backing Pollina’s candidacy now, they are actually discouraging some strong Democratic candidates from stepping forward, thus denying us the chance to vote for a candidate willing to truly deal with Vermont's problems: someone with the credentials and the credibility to win.

While a truly heroic Democrat may still step up to the plate, he or she would still have the anchor of Anthony Pollina hanging around their neck.

Give us a break, Anthony. We don’t need two more miserable years of Jim Douglas. We need change.
