     The Randolph Lady Ghosts basketball team had a split week with two losses and one win. They lost to Lyndon and Harwood, and defeated Northfield.

New Fencing Club Holds
First Tourney in Sharon

     The new Upper Valley Fencing Club will host its first Green Mountain Division tournament on Sunday, Feb. 10 at the Sharon Academy. Scores of fencers from Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts are certain to attend, and entrants are expected from Quebec, Maine and southern New England.

     Whitcomb Hornet Deven Hill nabbed the opening hoop against the Huskies in Cabot, and held on to the ball for the final possession of the game, as the Hornets buzzed by their hosts for their second victory of the season last Friday, Jan. 25, 66-62.

     When the 3-6 Whitcomb Lady Hornets and the 3-7 Cabot Huskies faced each other last Thursday evening in Bethel, it was the Hornets who prevailed. Both teams had injured starters on the bench.

For RUHS Gymnastics

     The Randolph varsity gymnasts had an away meet against Milton and Essex at Essex High School on Wednesday, Jan. 23. This meet was another season record-breaker for the gymnasts where they scored a 110.

Area Hockey Report

     In high school hockey action this past week, the Northfield Marauders ran their record to 11-4-1, with wins over Woodstock and Montpelier. They beat Woodstock at home, 5-1 with goals from Tyler Goodrich (2), Tyler Cole, Corey Hunt, and Alex Green.
