Yup, Tongue Thing Really Works

Please excuse the tardiness of this letter but I simply had to write to you about 13-year-old Samantha Harrington’s Christmas story "It Actually works!"

I grew up in Barre and lived on Merchant Street. Merchant Street intersects with Summer Street at the bottom end of the street, and Maple Avenue near Hope Cemetery at the top end of the street, and runs parallel to the Barre Auditorium and BOR on Seminary Hill. Well, there is sidewalk and incline, from Summer Street up to 34 Merchant Street where I lived, that has a black iron pipe railing.

And many years ago, when I was six or seven years old, I also found out that "it actually works!"

Reading Samantha’s story was refreshing and delightful for me, and took me back to a time and place that has forever been apart of my wonderful childhood. Thank you Samantha for sharing your brother’s wonderment and now knowledge that sticking your tongue to anything metal and cold is not a good idea, and yes, once again, "it actually works!"
