Raffle Tix Remain

Drawings for the annual Blue and White Raffle will be February 7 and 8, and a very few of the limited tickets are still available, according to the RUHS Sports Boosters.

Every winter, the Boosters sell just 100 white tickets and 100 of the blue. At both the final girls’ and boys’ basketball teams’ home games (February 7 and 8, respectively), four white and four blue tickets are drawn, with two first prizes of $200 (one blue and one white), and six second prizes of $100 each, again three white and three blue. That’s a total of $2000 in prizes.

The balance of the ticket sale proceeds go to the Sports Boosters, which has expanded its mission this year to include supporting students’ participation in sports activities while in high school, as well as providing scholarships to graduating athletes.

"This raffle has been going on since the beginning of time, and almost all participants have had their blue or white ticket number for a very long time," notes Rose Lucenti of the Boosters.

However, this year a handful of tickets have opened up, and those interested in joining the Blue and White tradition should call Lucenti, 728-6326, without delay.
