Inventor Bielenberg
Talks in Tunbridge

Carl N. Bielenberg will speak about "Invention for a Better World" Thursday, Jan 24 at 7 p.m. at the Tunbridge Public Library.

Bielenberg will share his experience and perspectives from 30 years’ work inventing technologies for meeting peoples’ needs and creating sustainable opportunity in Africa and New England. His work focuses on agricultural equipment and crop processing, small metalworking and woodworking industries, and renewable energy. Since 1996 he has designed, installed and serviced wood chip boiler plants in 40 schools and public and private buildings in New England.

Bielenberg’s career began in Cameroon, Africa, in 1976, after he received master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering from MIT. He founded the Better World Workshop, a small agricultural equipment manufacturing company in Bafoussam, Cameroon, in 1978. He also has been an employee and consultant for Appropriate Technology International, traveling to Africa and Asia.
