Take Fiddling Lesson with Natalie!

The incomparable Natalie McMaster is returning to Chandler Music Hall in February for two performances-and she will give you a fiddle lesson, too.

Fiddling/dancing sensation Natalie MacMaster, who is coming to Randolph for two performances in February, has donated a private one-hour lesson with her to benefit her fellow Cape Breton fiddler, Jerry Holland.

The MacMaster donation will be added to the money raised in December at a packed concert at Chandler Music Hall, when friends of Holland donated their talents to help Holland, who is suffering from cancer. Jerry Holland is one of Cape Breton’s most revered performers, as well as a leading composer of fiddle tunes whose songs are featured on the CDs of many of his fellow musicians.

Natalie MacMaster, though she now lives in Ontario, grew up on Cape Breton, where she learned her phenomenal fiddling skills.

Ever since her first concert at Chandler Music Hall several years ago, she has played there to sold-out audiences, and she has been booked to appear again at Chandler on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 26 and 27.

MacMaster has agreed to give a private lesson during her visit at 3 p.m. on the afternoon of Feb. 27.

Raffle tickets are $25 and can be purchased by sending a check made out to Chandler to 71-73 Main Street, Randolph. The drawing will be held after the intermission during the show on Feb. 26. If not present, the winner will be notified by telephone.

Tickets to both performances can be ordered by calling the Chandler Box Office at 728-6464 or through the website at www.chandler-arts.org.

NANCY: DO YOU HAVE A CD FROM CHANDLER WITH A PHOTO OF NATALIE ON IT? IF SO, USE A VERTICAL ONE AT 3" WIDE TO GO WITH THIS. IF NOT, LET ME KNOW AND WE’LL FIND ONE.
