On Friday, Jan. 11 the Randolph gymnasts hosted Harwood for their third home meet this year. The outcome of this meet was their best team score of the season, 106.35.
At least one of every gymnast’s scores counted towards the team score. The gymnasts had a long night, but achieved high scores, nevertheless. On vault the girls worked hard to maintain some of their highest scores. Lacy Dezan and Brook Sargeant each earned a 7.75, with powerful vaults. Jenna Miller had her second best vault of the season, with a score of 7.7.
On bars, Sargeant stepped up for the team, earning a 5.2, her highest score by far. Stephanie Deyette and Miller also achieved their highest bar scores of the season.
On beam, Kim Francis stuck her routine for the second consecutive time. Sam McPhetres worked hard, and despite two falls, earned the second highest score on the team, a 6.9.
On floor, Francis, Dezan, Sargeant and Deyette all did a fabulous job, earning their highest scores of the season. McPhetres threw her second-ever back tuck, a newly acquired move.
Bryn Keenhold had a spectacular night earning her highest all-around score of the season, a 29.45. She placed fourth on beam and all-around. First place all-around was captured by Whitcomb independent, Mikayla Dieffenbach.
Next Friday, Jan. 18, the Randolph varsity gymnasts will be competing away at U-32 against their undefeated junior high team.
